What year group / subject do you teach? 

Years 7-12 at the moment and teach Physical Education. 


What made you want to get in to teaching? 

Seeing my students have the light bulb moment when teaching them and they have successfully completed the skill. Also, to show my passion for PE and Physical Activity and provide a life-long love for participating in Physical Activity. 


Describe your teaching style in 3 words 

Firm, adaptable and interactive   


What would you say is the most challenging part of being a teacher? 

Learning all of your students names!  


What 3 tips would you give to someone about to start their teacher training? 

Talk to your mentors or colleagues if you're struggling, take opportunities when possible and learn when to leave work.  


What part of your job do you enjoy most? 

I enjoy demonstrating the techniques in PE, interacting with students and showing how fun PE can be.  


Why would you recommend someone to get into a career teaching?  

It's the best career, enriching young peoples lives and getting them to see their potential to achieve.


What advice would you give to to an ECT in their first teaching role? 

Enjoy your ECT year like your PGCE, take opportunities, talk to your mentors if struggling, and lean on other ECTs, we are all in it together.  


How would you like to see your teaching career develop?

 I would like my career to develop and progress into leadership, either through pastoral or departmental.
